Since the dawn of celebrity, the naming of their offspring has often been a unique experience.
There are many examples of celebrities naming their new-borns normal and beautiful baby names. We have, however, compiled a list of the weird, wonderful and sometimes downright bizarre celebrity baby names.
For instance, when Rob Morrow and Debbon Ayer were thinking up a name for their little girl, did they really think ‘Tu’ would go down well. Yes as in ‘Tu Morrow’…
Or did Randy Jackson know that family occasions were on the way to getting all the stranger for the Jackson family when the mother of two of his children had two more children with his brother Jermaine? Perhaps these people need to take a listen to ‘A Boy Named Sue’ by Johnny Cash. It has some sound advice in there for the awkwardly named.
However, a child is an extension of yourself and so the name you choose for them reflects your own personality and the kind of person you want them to be. If you take the late, great Frank Zappa, who always made innovative and experimental music, the fact he called his children Dweezil, Moon Unit, Ahmet and Diva Thin Muffin is more of a reflection of the man, though it doesn’t make it any less funny.
All babies are unique, with their own mannerisms and personalities. A name is just one part of that character and at the end of the day, though these names may seem ridiculous, they all come from a place of love. Next time, however, maybe they’ll listen to old Sue, who once reconciled with his Father over his own name, muses over what baby name he would choose for his child ‘I’m gonna name him Bill or George! Anything but Sue’.
Well Jermajesty, Speck Wildhorse, Pilot Inspektor and all the rest, good luck to you. And just remember if times ever get tough, Tu Morrow is another day…
